Grow Your Own Whilst Working From Home Garantia UK Challenge

Posted by Callum VP, on May 4, 2020.

With so many of us currently working from home, we thought it would be helpful to focus on the proactive steps we can take to keep ourselves entertained, stay healthy and take care of ourselves in these uncertain times.

It’s a good time to get out in the garden (if you have one & you’re able), grow your own food (you never know when you might need it!) and take part in a challenge to stay connected to others whilst you may be feeling isolated.

In light of this, a few weeks’ ago, we set up 25 participants who have all received one of our Urban Balcony Raised Bed Planters and a couple of packets of seeds (either radishes, baby carrots, spinach or spring onions). All 25 of them are now taking part in our challenge, the premise of which is simple; the first person to grow their own vegetables wins, but in order to win the participant must make sure they are documenting the whole journey by taking photos and videos of their progress and posting them on social media using the #GrowYourOwnChallenge!

After a week or so since the kits have gone out, we have seen some amazing results!

This challenge is a win-win for all of the participants. Spending time in your garden is good for you right now. Growing your own food is helpful, as the people of the UK continue to empty shelves in the supermarkets. If you’re working from home, all on your own, it’s important to stay connected to others and get involved with something fun! Plus, not everyone is enjoying being cooped up at home and they need a healthy distraction.

We’re really enjoying watching the progress of the 25 participants and we’re excited to see them all grow their own veg and serve it up for dinner!

If you’d like to track their progress too, be sure to keep up to date with the latest progress by following the #GrowYourOwnChallenge or follow our Garantia Instagram page, @garantiauk.

If you’d also like to start growing some of your own veg and need one of our Urban raised bed planters, please contact Patrick or Callum (pthick@grafuk.co.uk or callum@grafuk.co.uk).
