Does the composter cope with food waste including meat, processed foods and bones in the composter? Also does it cope with pet rabbit bedding straw and shredded paper? Or is it just for garden waste?
Roughly how quick does things take to compost and how does it compare to a normal compost bin or the hot compost bins? Can it sit on concrete? Is it vermin proof (only raw foods will be composted)
Hi Lisa,
It can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years for compost to reach maturity and be ready for you to use on your garden. The Thermolene technology within the plastic of the composter insulates your compost, speeding up the composting process so you get good quality compost quicker than a regular composter.
You should install your composter directly on the ground. This allows microorganisms to access your composter. Loosen compressed ground before installing. Concrete, stone and asphalt bases are not suitable under your composter
To help protect against rodents you should fit a soil fence (accessory) on the base of your composter
I hope this helps.
Thanks Gerty

Good afternoon,
And thank you for getting in touch.
I have asked one of my colleague to send over some useful leaflet filled with info that might help answers some of your questions.
Thanks,
Gerty.
Does the composting unit cope with biodegradable caddy liners? And is it impermeable to fruit flies? Thankyou, sounds a great product.
Hi Michaela,
Yes, the compost bin does cope with biodegradable caddy liners and no unfortunately no compost bin is impermeable fruit flies.
Thanks,
Gerty
Does this composter come flat packed or pre-built?
The composter will arrive flat packed and will need to be built in your garden. There is a video on this page in the image gallery that demontrates how the composter is put together.
